Pre & Post-Care

The routine behind flawless results.

How you prep and how you recover matters as much as the treatment itself. Here's exactly what to do — and what to skip.

Waxing

Brazilian, Bikini & Body Wax

Before your wax — do this

  • Hair should be at least ¼ inch (about 2–3 weeks of growth). Too short and wax can't grip it.
  • Gently exfoliate the area 24 hours before with a soft scrub or washcloth.
  • Shower the day-of and arrive with clean, dry, product-free skin.
  • Take an ibuprofen 30–45 minutes before if you're sensitive (especially around your cycle).
  • Avoid scheduling 3–5 days before your period — that's when skin is most sensitive.

Before your wax — skip these

  • Don't shave between appointments — it resets your hair cycle and causes thicker regrowth.
  • Don't apply lotions, oils, or self-tanner on the day of your appointment.
  • Don't use retinoids, AHAs, or acne medications on the area for 5–7 days prior.
  • Don't drink excessive caffeine or alcohol right before — both heighten skin sensitivity.

After your wax — first 24–48 hours

  • Apply your complimentary aloe to calm redness and inflammation.
  • Wear loose, breathable cotton — no tight leggings, denim, or shapewear.
  • Skip workouts, saunas, hot tubs, and hot showers (lukewarm only).
  • Avoid sex and direct sun exposure on the waxed area.
  • Skip swimming pools, beach, and heavy fragranced products.

Days 3+ — the smooth-skin routine

  • Exfoliate 2–3x/week with a gentle scrub or chemical exfoliant to prevent ingrowns.
  • Moisturize daily — hydrated skin = softer regrowth and fewer bumps.
  • Book your next appointment in 4–6 weeks for the smoothest, most consistent results.
  • If you notice ingrowns or congestion, add a Vagacial to your next visit.

Facials & Vagacials

Skincare Treatments

Before your facial

  • Arrive makeup-free if possible (or we'll cleanse it for you).
  • Hydrate well the day before — plump skin treats better.
  • Pause retinoids and acids 3–5 days prior so we can exfoliate safely.
  • Tell us about any new medications, products, or sun exposure.

After your facial

  • Skip makeup for at least 12 hours so your skin can breathe and absorb actives.
  • No sweating, swimming, or steam rooms for 24 hours.
  • Use SPF 30+ daily — your skin is freshly exfoliated and extra sun-sensitive.
  • Keep your routine gentle for 2–3 days: cleanser, hydrator, sunscreen.

Avoid for 5–7 days

  • Active retinoids, glycolic, salicylic, and benzoyl peroxide.
  • Waxing, threading, or laser on the facial area.
  • Direct, prolonged sun exposure without protection.
